I think there are going to be at least 1/3 pitchers.
  • Ron that is an excellent list! If it was one of those deals where you had to bet "yes or no" and your life depended on it, I think 90% of those listed would get a yes vote for using.

Here's a few more that I think will definitely be on the list or are prime candidates:

    Manny Alexander
    Aaron Effing Boone
    Rafael Betancourt
    David Bell
    Paul Byrd
    Ozzie Canseco
    Wil Delgado
    Kyle Farnsworth
Jason Grimsley (he has to be on the list)
    Jerry Hairston, Jr.
    Gary Matthews, Jr.
    Raul Mondesi
    Guillermo Mota
    Jose Offerman

I have also seen these names which would disappoint me but would not surprise me: Cameron, Damon, Prior and Wood.

Good list. I think there will be more pitchers though. They seem to have gotten a free pass throughout a lot of this. How anybody thinks Clemens wasn't doing it is crazy.

    "Thank you Senator McCarthy"

No. Thank you to the players union, incompetent baseball officials, owners who turned a blind eye to it, and the leering press who was more interested in access than reporting. They are who brought us to this point.

Even if none of the above players are on "the list", they were part of a system that has made the great game one of the dirtiest sports in the world. On that point alone, they should be held accountable. Not one of them ever publicly denounced steroid use and/or urged the union and the owners to clean it up. Not one.

Any chance that some names may be left off the list and dealt with in private? Im sure Selig doesnt want the league completely crippled.

This is only a short list anyway. Most players in that era were probably juicing. With so many juicing, do we just chalk it up to the steroid era and move on?

Anyone think that this will all go away pretty quickly?
  • Just an observation......after looking at Ron Burgundy list. It seems that a majority of those players had a tendency to be injured quite often. Would there be a connection to the injuries and the drugs ?

I think it has more to do with people take the drugs to recover from injuries than the reverse.
