Baseball trivia question of a dubious distinction...

Who is the player that played in the major leagues without getting a hit AND to also have managed in the major leagues without getting a win!

Quite a double dip for that guy!

  • Wondo,

    Great job...and quick too!

You do win something. You can't see it, you can't touch, but you can feel it. Pride! The satisfaction of a job well done!

    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Lawrence George "Moose" Stubing (born March 31, 1938) was a minor league manager and major league baseball coach. His playing career consisted of just five pinch-hit at-bats with the California Angels in the 1967 season. He spent time in the minors in the New York Giants, Pittsburgh Pirates, and St. Louis Cardinals organizations before his brief callup in 1967. He then became a manager in the minor leagues, and in 1984, his Edmonton Trappers became the first Canadian team to win the Pacific Coast League championship. Stubing later became a coach with the Angels, and when Cookie Rojas was fired in 1988, he took over as manager and finished out the season, losing the final eight games.

Stubing is the only major league player and manager never to register a hit or a win.

Moose Stubing was also a referee in Division 1 college basketball, officiating games in the Pac 10 and other conferences.
