Do you collect anything numistmatically related? If so care to share.

I have a day job but dealing seemed like full time shipping at 2am night before last and up at 4 this morning. I have a very loosely organized and incomplete type set that I'm not compulsive about---I buy coins that interest me and pass on any series that doesn't. I have a focus area in large cents. I have so many moderns it is hard to tell my collection from my inventory....

I collect currency and tokens of the county that I grew up in, Rensselaer County, NY.

    I also collect currency with the serial #'s 00000081, 00000082, & 00000084.

Both of the above said, I would sell any of the collections to another collector, if asked.

  • When I run across a modern toner I usually buy it to keep it in my personal collection; I believe the modern toners are undervalued in today's market. If I were to try and sell a modern toner I wouldn't get serious money, probably not even a profit. But I figure the beauty of the toning is worth tying $10, $20 up for and I am a true collector to this small area in numismatics; but otherwise I deal in any other U.S. coins I can get a bargain on.

I once purchaced a collection of Circus photos (over 7000 pictures) just to get to the local images, later found out that I purchaced the largest collection of Circus photos. The photos date 1880's to 1960's, with the bulk of the photos dating in the 1930's...

Still have most the collection, it was assembled by Frank Norten, a "Punch & Judy" performer.

I have been selling reprints of the human oddity performers for years.....

Do you collect or eat the chocolate, Fred? I know that it wouldn't last in any collection that I had!!

First off, I must say that I have always been impressed by Julian policy of selling anything that he collects so as not to compete with a client!

I have always had a passion for MT's thats Magic Token related and have quite a large collection .... one of the reasons I liked it was that it was more of a fun collection rather than high value items....

I collect Maryland colonial currency (another old Julian specialty!), medals relating to minting technology, certain types of early American fiscal documents, and early American coin silver made by numismatically-relevant silversmiths.

... among a few other things. Once in awhile I compete with Fred on US Mint things, but he usually wins image

I do a few and sundry interesting pieces from the darkside, particularly Central American Republic (and related) material, and (for some odd reason) privately minted coins and tokens produced in Great Britain during the 19th century. Here are a few:
