6 $20 Gold liberty's

Were taken in the last few days from a salvation army kettle at the mall in downtown Denver..... Now thats some Christmas spirit

I don’t think their coin sorters will sort a $20 lib. I figure the coin ended up in the "others" bucket where non-American coins end up when the change was sorted. I doubt the person working at the time had any idea what was in their kettle.

A lot of those "volunteers" are criminals serving community service time and all the kettles are locked.

It wasnt a coin sorter, it was a kettle like the one shown above the man has been doing it for years and this is not the first time this has happened here, past years have also produced gold. They showed a picture of whats in those that people put in, they had buttons, lint, regular change, and the gold.

Florida had a Salvation Army "bell ringer" get arrested the other day for shoplifting ($20 worth) at the Wal-Mart he was working in front of... while on break from bell-ringing.
