My oldest son is a sophmore in high school this year. Last year he tried out for basketball as a freshman and suffered a knee injury in preseason which prevented him from playing.
This year he tried out and made the frosh/soph team. His team has played about 6 games so far and he is starting. He is raw and needs practice and game experience (and instruction on the mechanics of the game like passing, shooting, dribbling, rebounding, footwork, defensive positioning, offensive positioning, etc.) to "get some skills". He had some early games where he was passive and not much of a factor. More recently he has gotten more into the games and it shows. He has started scoring regularly and he recently had 14 rebounds. He is 6'2" tall and growing. I can hardly wait to see him dunk for the first time.
Dad played high school and college hoops back in the day (the 70's) and is now living vicariously through his son and having a great time watching junior play high school hoops. His younger brother is in 8th grade and playing on a CYO team. Maybe next year both boys will be playing high school hoops.
Just thought I would crow

Do you record the games? would be a great memory to relive down the road.
