That Kelly 8 is a great card. Congrats!

    image HOLY COW!

    NICE!

Great grades, and you got em on a budget besides! You have to love that.

I need a Bob Brown in a PSA 7 if you want to part with one. I need a Hickerson 8 too but I just cant get myself to pay $3-400 for one. THat Howley in an 8 is fantastic too. Nice job.

Let me know what you need for a PSA 7 Brown.

Andy, the link is in my post above.

I have gotten tons of inquires about these cards. All of them will be for sale once I figure out prices. Which I have no idea how to get..LOL...

Guess I'll have to join VCP

I would love to trade these for some cards I need. If anyone has any cards similar in value that they are willing to trade according to VCP let me know. Check out my set and see if there is anything that I need that I may trade for.

That Brown is a toughie.... Most of you know that it was cracked out of a SGC 92 (8.5) holder. I was really hoping for the first 9, but it didnt happen. It's also tough to price because VCP doesn't have an 8 sale. I will either crack again and try once more, or stick it on ebay with no reseve and see what happens....

Josh- Are there any VPC prices for the 2 you want? Let me know and we'll get a fair price for both of us..

    Dave,

Absolutely amazing cards...congrats!! You saved yourself a ton of money finding those raw. Plus the 2nd Hickerson will probably pay for the cards you bought and grading fees combined! I have a very nice Nobis at PSA right now - I'm hoping for an 8 and feel that it has an outside chance at a 9.

  • Dave --

Just wanted to let you know that I got my Bob Brown 8 off Ebay for $750 in a BIN a couple years back.

I don't think I've seen one since, but Jason would know better.

    Hope this helps a little.

    BTW, hope everyone enjoys this.

I just bought my Dick Lebeau 9 from the board member I sold it to, for the price that I sold it for -- $95.

Nice grades Dave. If it's any help I sold a '66 Phily Brown PSA 8 for
$475 in August of this year. It was a BIN. I might have left some money on the table, but I was happy and I think the buyer was too.
Good luck with your sales. Great cards!

I was actually asking about the eBay auction for the raw Leroy Kelly you bought and then got graded.

The last Bob Brown PSA 8 was sold on a BIN for $400..

Actual retail is probably in the $400-$500 range...

  • As someone bidding against you all the time. I wanted to tell you what an awesome sub that was. I recently hit a 1952 Millner large PSA 8 and 1948 Leaf Waterfield PSA 7 Raw of the Bay as well. They are still out there. Keep up the good work!

Was this card at the national by chance? I saw a PSA 8 there and I think the asking price was $450.

Jason, I could have sworn you paid $500 BIN a couple months ago. I could be mistaken though

That BIN I hit for Glenn's (gswass) set was $400 from Kysha Sports...I already owned the card, so picked it up for him as I thought it was pretty cheap...Cheaper than they had been anyway...lol

Hasn't been one auctioned in forever..It I were you, I would start it at $.99 and let it ride...That's what I did with the 48 Bulldog Turner 7...You never know with ebay though..

Jason, were you happy with the hammer price of the Turner? I would have thought it would have been a little higher, but then again, I don't follow some of the higher grade cards..

I was guessing $500-$550 for Turner and $250-$300 for Wojo...I ended up at like $835 for both, so overall at the high end of what I expected...I paid $132 for the Bulldog 7 back in 2001, so it appreciated nicely...lol

ebay is ebay, nothing shocks me anymore...I just as easily could have gotten $400 for both or $1200 for both..You just never know especially with the higher grade, rarely available type cards. But is fun to watch!

  • Jason more then 3 and a half times what you paid is always nice i wish they all worked that way ,sometimes they go for 25% of what you paid.
Either way $483 for a 7 is good although i suspect that it could have easy have gone up as high as $700 like you said you never know, I am sure the buyer will enjoy it as much as you do your 8
Bottom line there are worth what someone is will to pay image
  • I sold a centered '48 Bow. Turner PSA 8 on ebay and auctioned it for $450. The problem was I sold it in 2001 or 2002 as I recall. Way before the RC set registry drove up prices. Now that's a $1000+ card all day.

mr. card bender...we all have cards like that. I do all 4 sports. Fb will never ever generate the interest or values of BB cards. Having sold and bought cards on ebay back in 2001 long before I even knew about the registry I can tell you all sportcards have gone up. However, some have gone down.....esp if they peaked during high points in a player's carear. ie I sold a psa 10 iverson Tchr for $450 and bought it back for $60. Fb has appreciated the most by far. I remember seeing a 1955 bowman psa 9 mike mccormack going for $250 and thinking what a smuck to pay that much for a card....and many like that. Now I wish I was that smuck. I am glad to see the collectors move to fb.....as many cards are still undervalued...esp the scarce vintage. A bulldog 8 could easily be a $2k card depending on who wants it at that paticular time. I am also noticing some of the more common rc's are droping in price and the lower grades are not following the higher priced top end grades. The fb registry and the select few who are part of it are major factors in fb card pricing. I think most of the top 25 people know each other and we all look forward to others improving their collections. Collectively we drive this hobby and that benefits us all. jay
