I bought Jojosportsheaven’s TRIMMED cards: HELP!!

Hello All, my name is Adam and I am new to these forums. I have been an avid collector for a few years, and I recently have fallen victim to jojosportsheaven’s trimmed cards.

I know that this subject has been beaten to death, but I was wondering if you knew how to get a full refund from this seller, and if so, how to do so without paying their ridiculous 20% restocking fee. I read all the threads that I could find and noticed that PSASAP and vintagetoppsguy had the same bad experience with this seller and managed to get their money back.

This seller is a fraud and should stop stealing people’s money.

Here are the links to the ebay items that I won (I hate how all his transactions are “Private”)

1971 Topps #630 Bob Roberto Clemente NM+
1971 Topps #5 Thurman Munson NM-MT+ to Mint
1968 Topps #177 Nolan Ryan RC NM+ to NM-MT

I feel like such an idiot especially after I read a thread about the trimmed Clemente…I just didn’t read the thread until it was too late; I already had these worthless cards in my hand when I read these threads.

Thank you for your help,
Adam

I already paid him and received the cards. After I calmed down a little from anger at the destroyed Munson and Ryan, I left a negative and in the process, ruined my 100% feedback rating when he retaliated with a negative. I'm not too worried about the feedback, just the money

Hi and welcome to the boards. Sorry this happened to you.

Did you pay via paypal? if so, did you use a CC?

If you did you may have a remedy with them.

    Good for you.

Hello, and thanks for the welcome. Unfortunately I paid with a check. The shady seller only accepted checks and money orders (plus all of their feedbacks and listings are "Private").

I should have known not to bid, but the eye-appeal of the Munson and Ryan cards drew me in.

If you look at the ebay username jojosportsheaven, you will see that they received 3 negatives in 2 days (the one I gave them yesterday and two today).

    Thanks for your time,
    Adam

check with your bank and see if they can do some sort of a chargeback on the check. The fee for that won't be nearly the screwing you'll take by returning the cards.

Worst case scenario, return them but mail them insured (so he has to sign) and with Del. Con.

  • guy is too stupid to know that "alterted" means ungradeable this "NM" and "EX?MT" ET do not apply to his cards.
and he lies stating he including such terms as altered which he did not. He merely stated he does not gaurantee third party grading......yet can assure you they are NearMint! What a guy. How does he have all those feedbacks given this!
live each day like it's your last but don't count on it!
  • Adam - you might as well return them, at least you'll get 80% of your money back.

Personally, I will never bid on anything if the seller hides his feedback and I rarely bid in private auctions. You should do some research to see if he ran your bids up in addition to screwing you with the trimmed cards.

Joe, I think Adam is passed the 7 days the description allows. Also he has left a negative.

Yep, I just checked and saw that they were removed as well. I think ebay got to this seller because they are no longer a registered user. This is great news, but I don't know if and how that will affect the people who left negatives from getting refunds.

What bothers me about this whole jojo thing is many of the cards he trimmed would have still fetched decent dollars if left alone. The Ryan rookie for instance, even at a PSA 5 level gets 200+ So, for a lousey 60.00 he ruins a card, his reputation and whatever. Not the sharpest tool in the shed.

Steve, my thoughts exactly. The gloss on the Munson was unbelievable. If it wasn't trimmed it would have probably gotten at least a PSA 7, maybe 8 because the centering was very good (not like a 90-10 or 80-20). I've seen PSA 7 Munsons go for about $100 on ebay, and that's what I paid for the trimmed Munson card.

At least the dirtbag has been NARU'd. Sorry to hear he stole your money like that.
