    No good, it looks like it was pressed against a grinding wheel. The fact that the design is visible down into the thin area is the key; on a planchet that heavily tapered there should not be any evidence of a strike at all.

    Post-mint damage, sorry. If you hold it up to another nickel, I think you'll find that it's out-of-round...

    Definitely a shame about it being a 12-S...has a full Liberty and everything. OUCH!
    Positive BST transactions with: too many names to list! 36 at last count.

    There where a bunch of Lib's in 2006 on ebay sold not as clipped but struck on a rolled thin planchet error.
