I have questions concerning this 1927 Brazilian 1000 Reis-large image

I would appreciate your input concerning this piece I put up on eBay last night. I called attention to a couple of peculiarities of the coin on my auction page but
now I'm not sure if I'm rational.

There is what appears to be a die clash under the "1000"- is there and can anyone help to identify it?

The difference in letter sizes in "Brasil" is interesting- can anyone comment on why the R, S, I, and L are one size, with the B appearing smallest and the A largest? What process would have resulted in that? Were they still handstamping dates at that time? I can't believe that would be true with minting in the many millions...

Nice! That's the most common date in the series, but still very tough to find in mint state. I paid way over the Krause price for mine.

I can't explain the difference in lettering, but I have noted that some of the products of the Rio de Janeiro mint from that period were somewhat crudely made.
