Want to trade circulated US nickels for Canadian

WOULD LIKE TO TRADE CIRCULATED U.S. NICKELS FOR CIRCULATED CANADIAN NICKELS

I posted this in the swap thread, too, but thought I might get more of a response here...

For the past year, I've been searching rolls of U.S. nickels and putting aside extras that I find. Along the way, I've gotten interested in Canadian nickels, too. I'd like to swap a roll of U.S. from 1939-1970 (mostly 40s & 50s) for a roll of similarly dated Canadian. My roll won't have any killer things in it (no Wartime), but includes some pretty good dates/mints. Most are in Good-Fine condition. I just thought this would be a fun thing to do. Also, if there's anything particular you're looking for, I can see if I have that. Otherwise, I'll just include as many different dates and mints as I can.

You can PM me or, probably better, just email me directly at collard@bigsky.net

Also, if I should be posting this as a separate topic, I'd appreciate any input. I've never done this before.

Thanks!

Hi. I had several pounds but gave them away a while back. Might still have a pound or two, but I won't know until I sort this huge 60-lb. lot of mixed world coins.

In answer to your concerns regarding the etiquette here on the World Coin Forum, we do allow posts like this, but prefer that they have "SSP" in the title (meaning Shameless Self Promotion). Well-established members can do SSP posts once in a while as long as they don't abuse the privilige, and generally those who do SSPs also occasionally offer a giveaway of some sort.

There's no harm in this post.

We DO have a "Weekly Swap" thread where everybody freely posts their items for sale or trade, and this has generally taken the place of individual SSP posts, for the most part.

Back to your topic, I could use pre-1958 Jeffs, but I'll have to see what I have in Canadian. I have a hunch that many of my Canadian nickels from the bulk lots are gonna be the old George V type that I won't want to trade for Jeffs. But I do get later ones, too, of course.

    Be careful with this.

It's illegal to ship more than a specified amount out of
the country ($100 I believe) and they might be getting
ticked enough to be looking for a test case or someone
    to be made an example.

Be sure you know the law.

At face value of 5C each, it could take a while (and a certain poundage) before that happened. I can't believe most customs inspectors would glance twice at the kind of coins they must see in change (more than occasionally).

Thanks everyone! I didn't check this for a couple of days and after the lack of the response the first day, am pleasantly surprised you guys answered. Lemme know if this might work for you Lord M--and thanks for the etiquette insights. Have a great day!
