Gum stains in Garbage Pail Kids series 1, 2 or 3 boxes?

In a Garbage Pail Kid Series 1, 2 or 3 box, what is the gum like with the cards? Does it leave a bad stain, can you scratch it off?

I've been thinking about getting a box of Series 2. So far, I've opened series 4 and 5, I think the gum stains were worst in 5 than in 4, but maybe it was the box I got.

I guess I should read this board more, here's finally something I know a little bit about. From my experience Gum almost always ruins 1 card from a pack. My last Series 2 box I opened, 46 cards had gum stains out of 48 packs. But generally it is all 48 cards so I guess I got lucky. My experience is so heavily slanted in the way of gum ruining 1 card that if I found a box that didn't have 1 bad card per pack, I'd probably question it. I'm sure there is some good boxes out there, I've just never found one. That's what really surprises me with the price of Series 1 boxes. You are getting 48 cards with gum stains, 48 cards with wax stains, and 144 good cards, for $1200! Granted you can remove the wax stains easily but that's still only 192 good cards for a lot of money, over $6 a card. If you want super quality, go with rack packs. They are super nice. Problem is you usually only find them for series 3-5. I've still got vending cases of series 4,5,&6 that I still need to go through. Those are nice because they have no wax or gum stains but they cost me some good coin.
