Could I have hit a Home run on pure dumb luck?

It's regarding this coin click here. I purchased the coin pictured from Stacks last summer mostly just because I thought it was cool, usually my main requirement, for $300. I had to email the auction house to see what they could do with mine.

Don't know any specifics about the series, but if you notice - the estimate on CoinArchives was 150, which makes me wonder what happened that it sold for almost 10x the estimate. I'm sure someone with the answer might be along shortly image
  • I did notice that also. 8 examples show up total in the archives. It looks like the estimate is based on past estimates. I'm daydreaming interest has increased. Atleast two people wanted it and only one got it. If the underbidder is reading this pm me image

Interesting possibility. The one thing that jumped out at me is the apparent incuse strike on the portrait your coin, which appears to be different from the Kuenker coin. I wonder what the story is with the incuse strike?
  • it's not incused, guess it's an optical illusion.

I was wondering the same thing but I figured it was, as stated, an optical illusion...
