John: That's an excellent Gold Buffalo photograph from a lighting perspective.
Would additional depth of field (higher f-stop) provide you with more of this high relief coin being in focus? As an amateur photographer, I was just wondering. Thanks!

john, something seems strange with the color as noted above like shot at sunset(too orange). your photos always are excellent and put mine to shame. this is my crappy pic but the color is more natural. what lighting did you use?

I'm not sure if this was your intention, but it looks like it's silver, but taken in the light of a sunset.

He used both flash and overhead fluorescent light. Two different colors for the light are causing that effect.

thanks messydesk, i`m working on my skills and every bit of info helps. i`m shopping for some better lighting as i`m using a single incandescent.
