After scanning several .pdf versions of the Patriot Act, including its most recent reauthorization, my tentative conclusion is that this is a crock. There are some provisions that address transaction-reporting and money-laundering concerns for bullion and coin dealers, but that's really as close as the reality of the law appears to get to this website's spin. I didn't see anything to suggest confiscation is in the wings, but then I've never seen a black helicopter
in my neighborhood, either. Maybe the electromagnetic short-wave reception in my dental fillings needs to be checked.

A less conjectural view here.
