    Ray is a scumbag. Period.

I'd like to see someone literally knock his head clean off of his shoulders and then proceed to kick it thru the uprights.

He's got arms bigger that my legs. One scary ars dude.

P.S. BALT came close tonight. They can thank an assistant coach for calling the T.O. and losing the game for them. What a boner move! I guess that's what bad teams do.

I think the boner award goes to the defense for the 30 yard penalty that lets the Patriots kick off from the Jacksonville 35 yard line. I've watched football for 38 years and i have never seen a kick off past the 50 yard line.
  • love those classy ravens, throwing the penalty flag, and getting another penalty lol. when he was punting, i thought he was kicking a field goal lol.

that defense played a great game, hard hitting and intense.

Kornheiser made a good point before that kickoff from the 35: The Pats might as well try an onside kick. Worst case it goes 10 years downfield and the Ravens start from the 25 instead of the 20. Of course, that 5 yards might have won the game on the hail mary image. Still, why not try it, or pooch it to the 5 or 10?

I can't believe they called the Pats last TD a catch, he did not have both feet in bounds and controlled possession of the ball.

Alan, If you try an onside kick your kick team is all in a line. If a defender catches it on one hop he can break through that line and run it back for a touchdown. Very poor defensive plan. I'd rather put my defense on the field and have them start at the 20 than risk a fluke play.

What game where you watching? Both feet were clearly inbounds. That wasn't even an issue for debate. The dispute was whether he had full control of the ball when he finally was out of bounds. The replay showed a motion in which he shifted ball from his left hand to his right arm. Because there was no bobble or clear sign that he did not have control of the ball, it was not enough to overturn the call, which was the right thing to do.

Jeez, and they say Pats homers have blinders on.

Obviously both feet where in bounds, but when he was shifting the ball as you say, he did not have complete control of the football until afterwards, which he then did not have two feet in bounds. It was not a catch in my opinion.

Sorry your hypothesis of how I am a Raven fan is wrong also, I was pulling for the Patriots to win but really didn't have a dog in the fight.

Once again, the "control of the ball" part is debatable. He was not bobbling the ball. The replay was not conclusive so the call was stays and he may have very well be just shifting from one hand to another.

Let me start by saying I'm 100% unbiased. Part of me wanted to see the Pats win because of Shula's premature celebration. The other part wanted to see them lose, since they are becoming the hands-down favorite.

Having said that, because the ruling on the field was a TD, there was no absolute, conclusive evidence Gaffney didn't have control. If the ball appeared to "bobble" during the switch, that would have been enough.

But he didn't and based upon the rules, it was the correct call.

I would like to see the Pats run the table solely so Mercury Morris has to eat some serious Crow.

TD was a close call, but as stown pointed out, there was no convincing visual evidence to overturn the call on the field. Personally, I thought it was a TD. I've seen much worse called a TD.

I actually have the video of the TD in .flv format. I've watched it over and over again, I'm convinced the call was right. Unfortunately, my ISP won't let me post a file larger than 2mb (it's 2.26mb). It's over at nfl.com, but you really have to dig for it under Teams > NE > Gaffney.
  • Brian48Brian48 Posts: 2,624 ✭✭✭
FYI, in case no one else has realized it, you can save all the videos posted at nfl.com as .flv files. Just copy them from your internet cache and save it in directory somewhere. I've got all the highlight reels from week 1 to the present just in case the Pats do run the table. It'll make for a nice chronical of the season that I can always look back to if it ever comes to that.
  • looked like the TD was good, feet were definitely in bounds.

You can post it to several free sites, including YouTube and photobucket.

Well, I'm at work so I can't use youtube (it's blocked). I posted it on photobucket, but the re-encoding really degraded the quality. Anyway, here's the video of the TD if anyone is interested.

How bout them Ravens crying about being "trash-talked" to by an official ??

Whether true, or merely paronoia by the birds, great to see the 4-8 cellar dwellers,
get a small taste of their own loud mouth style of conduct. and disrespect for normal human behavior.

Perhaps a bit harsh, but it does seem a little justifiable, what goes around comes around !

As I said before, there's a reason why they're the second most penalized team in the NFL. I suppose all the penalties acrued from all the other games were fixes too.

Who called that time out from the Ravens sideline anyways? That time out cost the Ravens the game right there!

Indeed! I heard it was an assistant coach that called it, which is also not allowed, but the refs granted it anyway. What a boneheaded move! Pertsonally, I think this whole calling TO from the sidelines crap is a bunch of BS, especially when it comes to the late game FG. The rule should be changed so that only a player on the field can call TO, not the coach standing 35 yards away from the action.
