Is this 07 Topps Sterling Mantle auto real??

Have a question regarding the 1 of 1 Mantle 07 Sterling card
I probably should know this answer but is that signature really his or was that just made up for his 52 Topps card. I am used to seeing the looping M's and really don't care for the "cute" dotted i. I first noticed this on page 26 of the most recent Beckett and here is a link to an auction for some ad material that has the picture also. When I get home tonight I will scan the Beckett page.

I believe that his signature was like that at one time.

They used to use the signatures from the signed contracts for the cards. Mantle did sign similar to that very early on, or at least he apparently did. I've seen some authenticated early autographs that looked similar. I think I remember seeing somewhere that the "looping" style started late 50's or early 60's but I'm not certain on that.
