I am under the impression that 95%++++ of all high profile raw cards on ebay are either fake, trimmed, colored, or have some other defect that would keep them from grading very high or they would be slabbed to maximise profits for the seller.

Your "impression" is correct, although I would say it's higher, MUCH higher than 95%.
There probably could be some sort of estimated percentage chart derived from the estimated value of a raw card listed on ebay having the flaws you mentioned. Perhaps on a raw card listed of $1,000 or more, the chances of it having those flaws I feel is definitely close to 100%. From a dealer...it is 100%...not debatable!
Yeah for anyone new if a dealer is selling graded cards and raw cards, the raw cards are FUBAR. If he tell's you he doesn't grade he just buys graded he is probably a lying weasel.
