Scammer?

Just got this message on eBay:

Q: hI, I WANT TO BUY THIS ITEM. I can pay with paypal. Shipment address will be in Houston. Please let me know if you accept it. thanks

So, I click over to their profile, thinking "I stated that I accept Paypal in the listing, why would they need to ask that question?"

Here's what comes up:

What should I do? Accept it and hope for the best? Or block them and avoid them like the plague?

image Be thankful he did not already put in a bid.....Block and wait for someone else that "feels" OK to deal with.

  • Probably a scam, or he wants it dropped shipped to a friend here in the US...

As long as the payment is from and shipped/insured to a "confirmed" mailing address your OK...

Make sure ( if you have not already ) and edit your profile on PayPal to only accept confirmed address payments and only ship to confirm address's...

Will save you a lot of headache's in the long run...

If you ship to a non-confirmed address, your at full exposure for a loss...

    My Ebay Auctions

    Currently Listed: Nothing

    Take Care, Dave

I only accept payments from confirmed addresses, always. I'll just block him since I really don't want to deal with the hassle if it does turn out to be a scam.

If the offer came through ebay then it is probably legit. I just sold a bunch of blue boxes to someone in Korea. They had me ship them to somewhere in the bay area (their confirmed paypal address) where their shipper would forward them to korea. However, look for all the standard pitfalls like hijacked account etc. the first line sounds more like a phishing e-mail. Jerry
