Invalid Cert. Number question................

A friend recently purchased a PCGS lincoln wheat without a bar code. When the numbers were entered in the registry to validate the coin and to see if it was registered, the results came back as a bad / invalid number. What gives? Should the coin be re-submitted to PCGS for a "lable" upgrade? What is usually done in cases like this? Any info would be helpful.

Thanks

A quick email to PCGS should fix this.
Sometimes they have asked me to sent the coin in to them, but they might only request a picture.
In such a case they have picked up the cost to mail (both ways, but I picked up the cost to send to them as the coin in question was not very valueable)

I heard some of the really old holders need to have a (1)? in front of the number
