Just thought I'd mention for those looking to get into the hobby or someone else, Fisher has their new F-2 on sale for the holiday for $199. That price also includes a 4" coil and lower rod in addition to the 8" coil.
For price/performance, we have a new leader over the Ace 250, although there are a couple things better on the 250 (saving settings, notch ranges, battery type). However, Fisher weighs in SLIGHTLY deeper, better target seperation, distinguishes nickels from the trash, and better target ID in general (100 VDI numbers).
