Any board members in Chicago live close to this store?

Cheap Seats Sports Cards
1504 119th Street
Whiting, IN 46394

They have an Emmitt card I need but for some reason they don't reply to emails image

I'm wondering if one of the board members shops there and wouldn't mind picking me the best card out of the 14 they have.

Gracias or something

Matt

Me too! I need to talk Tonya into to going to Gatlinburg TN again this year. We have gone 2 years in a row and got rental cabins up there.

The drive is cool, only about 11 hours. She doesn't want to go because when the baby needs to be changed or fed, she has to climb to the back seat of the suv....lol

If you want to trim a few hours from your trip...there are some nice cabins and good scenery in East Ridge, TN. I like going to Gatlinburg for the Smokey Mountain Knife Works in Sevierville though.

    My most interesting road trip:
My buddy was going through a divorce with his wife. Asked if I wanted to go for a ride cuz he just needed someone to talk to and get his mind off things. Well, we ended up driving all the way to Kentucky! HAHAHA We are in upstate NY! The dude was a mess but he was pretty ok by the time we got back. Didnt expect to do that but what the heck.

It was crazy...but seriously, I thought he was going to do himself in. It was worth it. It's a good memory these days though.

Only cards I've bought in the area in a huge antique store just outside of Pigeon Forge, can't remember the name though. I'll have to look for the shop, I'm going up there on the 23rd for a big knife show.

  • I was living in Cleveland, OH. I was moving back to KY the next week. My life was a total wreck. I was sitting at Starbucks reading and this chick I had always admired came in. We started chatting. Next thing you know we were making a midnight trip to Niagra falls. We stayed the night there and in the morning we went across the border to Windsor. We ended up hanging out all weekend. I mean, nothing became of it. It was just nice hanging out with someone interesting. She helped me get back on track and told me moving back would be good for me. She was right. 2 months later I met my wife.

I think its called Batters Box. If your leaving Gatlinburg heading into Pigeon Forge, it's on the left in the same complex with Papa John's....I like Pizza image
  • That store is awesome! My wife said next time we get down there we are definitely going. There's so many awesome places down there. My favorite restaurant is Applewood. My wife and I also like to spend the nights down in Gatlinburg in this little area called The Village. It's pretty awesome.

  • I drove through Whiting today on my way to the Sun Times show in Chicago. I don't usually make that trip but if you're desparate I can swing by in a few weeks on my next trip to Chicago. Let me know.

Same as Reese for me Matt.

Map on yahoo says I'm about 250 miles and 3 1/2 hours from Whiting.

However, the place is only 18 miles from Chicago, so perhaps changing your title might help you??

Sure. But unless you have a phone that you can see the card through I doubt that would help me.

It isnt difficult Matt, here's how I see the phone call going:

Lawnmowerman: Hi this is Matt, and for unexplainable man love reasons im interested in one of your 14 Emmitt Smith cards.

Cheap Seats Sports Cards: Thanks for your interest, how can I help you today?

Lawnmowerman: Could you scan the 3 or 4 best cards of the 14 available so that I can see the condition?

Cheap Seats Sports Cards: I sure can, give me your email address, and I will get those to you as soon as I can, and thanks for calling Cheap Seats Sports Cards.

Lawnmowerman: You're welcome, and if I make this purchase I will throw the card on my bed and roll around on it until it sticks to my sweaty naked body.

    I think I feel sick.

edit to add: They don't respond to emails so calling them on the phone would probably be worse.

Whats easier? Taking the time to field phone orders or just emailing someone back with a scan?

    The scan of course.

I'm just hoping on getting a better conditioned card. There are two of this card on ebay right now and one is a complete set which I don't need.

This store has 14 so finding two really good examples shouldnt be hard.
