Advice Needed - Seller Won't Honor High Bid

I won a 1960 Topps Mickey Mantle baseball card in a 11/14/07 eBay auction. I paid $164.50 through PayPal for the card on the same day.

The seller, who has a 0 feedback record, has advised me that he will not honor the bid because he was hoping to sell the item for a lot more. I noticed in My eBay - Items I've Won that my PayPal payment is pending.

Since the seller has no intention of sending me the item, what do I do now? Any timely advice will be appreciated!

Send a report to ebay, not much they can really do. With 0 feedback he can just sign up again with a new name.

    non-performing seller link

sounds like he may have refunded you.. check your paypal account
  • I went into my PaYPal account and was given the option of cancelling the payment. I did so.

    Thanks!

Id tell the guy to use a recerve type auction in the future and had the card sold for 2x its value would he let you so easlily off the hook?

Just another mutt that makes this hobby a cesspool.

Had basically the same thing happen to me awhile ago with a 0 feedback seller.

It was a large lot of 80's/90's junk. They offered free shipping to whoever would win the auction and it had no reserve. I ended up winning it for less then $20 and the seller immediately re-listed it. I had a few emails back and forth with the seller finally saying they had no intentions of taking any less than $350. So I filed the non performing seller on them and gave them a neg saying "Sorry To Neg You But/No Reserve Auction/ Refuses To Sell/Wants No Less Then $350". Wasn't long after that the seller got the boot.

This is probably a good thing in my opinion..... If the card is not already in a PSA or SGC holder there is a better than average chance it is fake or altered in some way.
  • give him a neg. He will have trouble bidding and selling with a -1 under his belt
  • I had a seller balk on a sale. I won 122 Bonds cards including the Topps Traded and Fleer Update rookies for $20.00. I thought it was a really low thing to do.
