Ebay Coin Selling tips and suggestions... please.
I have seen suggestions/tips mentioned on the boards before but they are spread out and I do not know how to dig them up. I have not ever sold anything on ebay and figured I would give it a try. I have some proof mint sets (clad and silver) and proof SAEs that I would like to sell to fund a couple of older PCGS slabbed key coins. What I was thinking was a listing of 92-98 clad set, 92-98 silver set, 99-07 clad set, 99-07 proof set, and a mix of SAEs. I have seen some on the BST boards that do not seem to move so this is my other option.
What I would appreciate is any suggestions, with my listed items in mind, to help my beginning process. Questions that come to mind, not having prior experience, is what is the best length of time for an auction? What about the best ending day/times? Do you start with a low bid and reserve, a higher start bid and no reserve, or BIN and higher start bid? Should I list as sets or singles?
I have not looked at the ebay fees yet but what do you find are the most cost effective ways to list? Does cheaper listing mean less returns?
Shipping options/fees. USPS is the only option for me and Priority will be used. I was told that Certified is not best with coins that Registered is best. Just seems that Registered is expensive for the smaller valued items. Then there is a signature confirmation or return reciept. What do you use?
There is a lot of grumbling going on about Ebay and cancelled auctions. Will I have to worry about this being I don't have slabs or grades?
I have read several times that a problem person gets added to a blocked bidders list. Does anyone have a list available?
What are the big do's and don'ts of ebay listings?
Thank you for any information you are willing to share.

I would agree and like to add, especially in the coin category, there is no need to spend a lot of extra dollars for ad exposure-you only fatten ebays pockets. Use a good description in your title and the collectors will find you.
