new purchase RCNH: 1874 $1, disappointment, patience and triumph!

or, "The one that got away and the one that didn't."

Once upon a time(3 years ago), Jon Rosenthal at RCNH shoots me an email and informs me he has a sweet PCGS MS62 T-III $1 for sale.

I was in love, but I did not have the funds for it at the time. The coin found the happy home of another customer shortly thereafter. Simply said, the coin got away. I attended two Baltimore shows with this coin on my want list. Not wanting to settle for anything less in quality and eye appeal, I went away empty handed both times.

And then last Thursday, another email from Jon, with happy news! Warren had purchased this little beauty-yes, a PCGS MS62!!

it's a beautiful piece: tons of luster, tons of metal flow, both around the obverse portrait and all over the middle of the reverse. warm oozing gold color! The feeling of resoution, coming full-circle, and closure is amazing. It was indeed a test of patience and the reward is quite special. Jon's pics btw were excellent and very true in appearance. Nice going!

Curious, are there any others out there that have a similar lost and found story?
