Is this an original roll? Well as original as can be anyways.image
I'm hoping it hasn't been picked through a few times over.

A few others know rolls better than I do and hopefully will chime in.
The first photo looks fine. The 2nd one looks like someone may have rtied moving things around.

All in all, if the price were right, and I wanted an original roll, I would likely gamble on it.

Did you pick it up already (I am assuming the pics are your and that you did)?

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

    Yes, $12.00
The first roll I have bought off ebay. I combined this auction with another of his auctions. A 1962 proof toned Franklin. I picked up and got a reduced shipping for both.

Looks fine to me. Don't open it, I have the feeling that the coins in there are RB because of the paper reacting on them over the years.

It doesn't look like it's been opened. Is it a bank roll, ie are there bank markings on it?

I don't agree at all that the coins will be RB. I've searched hundreds of OBW rolls and have rarely come across an RB roll, even if the roll was improperly stored. Judging from the look of the end coins, this roll will either be superb mint red, or will have spots, but should be full red. Which depends on how much moisture the roll saw during storage.

I do agree that you should not open it.

That roll sure does look nice.

But what's this cr@p about not opening it ?????

Are you a roll collector or a coin collector ????

Some coins are just plain "Interesting"

The roll will lose a lot of its value if it's opened. If it's full of cool varieties or high grade coins, this is probably OK, but otherwise it's best to leave it intact. There are plenty of 1957D singles around already.

Sure looks original to me, but you really can't be certain.

Well, I guess that if you are buying these as an investment to retain or gain value then they should be left intact, but if a coin collector were to buy this roll, and not look at THE COINS....... well I don't think I have to finish the sentence.

    Wow!!

It's probably a good price but 12 years ago you couldn't give these rolls away. The
shipping costs were far higher than wholesale unless you had them in nearly bag
    quantities.

Even five years ago they were hardly worth the shipping costs.

    I guess time flies.
