Isiah Thomas: what a tool

At a press conference when talking about Marbury he said "sometimes people have to learn on a public stage". Might not have been the exact phrase but it was pretty close. Unbelievable!!!!

"The answer was in the Patriots eyes. Gone were the swagger and c0ck sure smirks, replaced by downcast eyes and heads in hands. For his poise and leadership Eli Manning was named the game's MVP. The 2007 Giants were never perfect nor meant to be. They were fighters, scrappers....now they could be called something else, World Champions."

  • how jim dolan tolerates Thomas is beyond me...FIRE THIS GUY ALREADY! what does he have to do , kill someone to get fired?

ps..i love how Marbury says isiah has to start him cause marbury has "so much stuff on Isiah"
  • Yeah, that was funny. I am a Knicks fan but at times it is soooooo tough to root for them. I long for the days of Reed, DeBuschere, Clyde, Bradley, and Monroe.

Not that I EVER wish harm on anyone but does anyone remember when Isiah went up for that layup and bumped into Karl Malone?

So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts

    thomas deserves everything he gets!!!

always played with a chip on his shoulder and showed no respect to anyone not on his team and some of those guys too, what goes around comes around

He was a tool when he was a player and he is still a tool now.
  • I think it was him back in the late 80's that said if LArry Bird was black he would just be looked at as another avergae player. LOSER

Bird shot pretty good with that broken index finger his whole career. Have you seen that finger?? Yikes!! It hurts just looking at it!.

Isiah Thomas was born and raised in the "hood" and even though basketball has allowed him the opportunity to escape from the "hood", he is still a punk. His coaching and general managing of the Knicks is a disaster.

Loved him as a player in Detroit.

Post playing days, his behavior seems wretched.

Yeah I know this is an old thread.

He seemed like a good player at the time. I guess he just better than the rest of the thugs on that team!

After his playing days he just seemed to go off the deep end!

In the late 80's/early 90's Thomas and Rodman were the good guys on the Bad Boy team.

How true. I always had a grudging respect for the Pistons of that era though my loyalties were divided between the Bulls and the Lakers back then. Detroit played dirty, no doubt (especially Laimbeer!) but they never made a secret of it. The Celtics were no choir boys either. The NBA in general played a lot harder then; there's no way they could have gotten away with all that hard banging in the paint in the wussified NBA of today. Kareem's trademark goggles for example... those were borne of necessity because he was getting hit in the eyes and face so much that his corneas were messed up; his eyes would get dry and even swell. Ouch

Joe Dumars was widely regarded as the "good guy" on those teams. Isiah was well known as a pint-sized assassin even back then. Tough as nails and willing to tangle with anybody.

The Pistons were a rough, often dirty, team, no doubt about it. But, in all honest, they weren't THAT much worse than other teams. I mean, we're talking an era when the Lakers & Celtics were brawling during the Finals.
