FSH: 1836 (on hold) Capped Bust Half Dimes

The second coin is an 1836 LM-4/V-2 half dime that I obtained from the Russell J. Logan duplicate sale held by Bradley Karoleff in 2006. Brad described the coin "Nice light tan toning with multi-color highlights. There are a couple of minor hairlines visible only with magnification. The reverse has been lapped as mentioned in the book, but there is no die crack at the U in UNITED." The grade assigned in the catalog was AU-50. The catalog description is a bit conservative insofar as grade is concerned. I paid $257 and that is my sale price (shipping included). This coin is ON HOLD pending approval

Wow, huge photographs! The 1836 looks much better than the catalog description as an AU-50. I wish I had the extra money.
