1878 Vam 201 With X-tra's.Opinions Please!!

All attributions point to a Vam 201,except the following pics.Took some in 10x and 60x,The last 2 pics are of another 1878 for comparison.The area in question is the Cap and hairline below. imageimage

    Yes, that is known as is a more subtle bit along the base of the neck and in the lower left inside corner of the ear. This is the same die and diagnostics as for VAM-79. Here is the curious part though. If you look on the VAM-201 reverse, there is what appears to be a sign of a previous clash (cleaned up) at the top edge of the wing. (There is also some touch up or something by the right (viewer's left) wingtip.) I believe the die, despite the description note to the contrary, is a reuse after VAM-202A. The reason is because there is no associated sign of clashing on the obverse for the VAM-201. Another thing to point out on the description is that the die chip is in the D of UNITED, not the D of DOLLAR.

    The bit of metal does look like the counterclash we see, located a little differently, on the 1883-CC VAM-5B. Just don't see other signs of such an event on the obverse. Perhaps just some crude touch up.
