Chinese Ebay seller quotes Hobby Protection Act in listing

I bought a copy of a favorite Mexican coin from a Hong Kong Ebay seller, it arrived yesterday.

The Ebay listing actually quoted the US "Hobby Protection Act".

Ebay listing link "Mexico UN peso 1898 replica":

I only paid US $3.00 for the coin and shipping so I am happy with it.
We gave each other good feedback.

His Ebay listing picture shows the word "COPY" on the coin but the coin I received does not have the word on it.

I added it to my "1949 Restrike of the Mexico 1898 Peso" Internet article.

The copy is of the 1949 restrike.

I have no arguement with what this seller is doing. He's upfront and his replica coins enable most collectors to obtain an example they could never have included in their collection otherwise, and very cheaply.

And who knows, maybe one or more of these "copy" buyers will spring for the real thing one day.image
