Die cracks in silver nickels common?

Was looking at a few macro pics of some of my war nickels and noticed a completely N-S crack going on with my 1942-S.
At first, I thought it was one of the hairlines but looking closer, it is definitely a thin crack. Then, I thought it was just through the S and ending at the top of the building but when I looked again, it does go completely north to south.
I haven't seen enough war nickels to know if this is common for them or not....

Always Looking for Raw Proof Lincoln Cents !!
most are from the top of the reverse thru or
near the Mintmark, down to the building.
Some continue down below the buiding, to
the rim at around 6:00.
Fred, that's exactly what is happening on this one. Top middle, down the MM, down the bottom to 6oclock.
