Let's Make a Deal- WAY Cool

OK. I admit it. One of my guilty pleasures is watching the old 1970's game shows that are on the Game Show Network. My all-time favorite is the original 'Let's Make a Deal' with Monty Hall. Although I'm not a currency collector, he gives away nice $500, $1000, and even $5000 notes, which is fun to watch. The one I saw today, though, takes the cake. In the first deal, he offered the contestant a $20 gold piece (in a frame, in a Capital Plastics-type holder), or $1000 in cash. They took the cash, and eventually passed on another deal for a car, and then traded the cash away for fish. After they turned down the gold piece, Monty explained that it was a 1907, high relief, $20 Saint, in 'choice uncirculated' condition, valued at $4900.00 (this was about 1974), from Bowers and Ruddy galleries. There were a couple of nice close-ups of the coin...the show would've had a different outcome if I'd been there, of course, but I would've been around 5 at the time...
