  • I almost always end on a Friday night because it's Payday for most.

It's worked well for me in the past.

  • Friday seems like a good idea to me. It's the weekend and most people should be feeling happy and carefree at that timeimage

and out and about and not sitting at their computers like Sunday.

  • friday is not a good day to end auctions.

Sunday and Tuesday works better for me. If I need to, I might do Thursday nights. I avoid other days.

Just look at some of the bigger sellers on Ebay (Just collect, dsl, 4SC, etc) and see when they end their auctions. Most of them do Sunday nights.

Friday seems to be the best according to my ebay store reports. I sell 40% more cards on Fridays than any other day of the week, with Wednesday and Sunday being the next best.

i use sunday for most of my bigger auctions, i don't usually sell cards, a few cars, lots of dvds, household stuff,
i feel by ending sunday you get people looking on friday night, all day saturday and you hope they pull the trigger on sunday

  • I always end my auctions on Sunday night. That's when everybody is home, winding down their weekends and playing on their computer. I do not like Friday nights because a lot of people are out during that time. I know a lot of people use a snipe service and that shouldn't matter, but then again, a lot of people don't use a snipe service as well.

A quick check of the various 4SC entities shows that they do not end auctions on Sunday....and most end during the day instead of at night.
Since they are a business with employees who probably work 9-5 M-F, their auctions will begin and end during this time.

  • According to our data Sunday has the most volume and highest dollar cards averaging about 3100 auctions and $275K

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday get 1600-200 auctions total $95-120K.

Friday and Saturday are slowest 600-750 auctions $35K-65K range,

These are for graded cards only covering all sports only.

  • Good info. I was just thinking that if I started them this Friday, that they'd end next Friday which is the day after Thanksgiving and a lot of people might be sitting around the house. I guess they could also be out traveling as well though. I guess I'll try Sunday.

I think it depends on what you are selling....

If it is something that isn't hard to find you may get more for it on a Friday night than Sunday night (more likely to get lost in with all of the other Sunday night auctions).

For example.....I've got a mid-grade '54 Ted Williams that I want to list, I may get more bidding on a Friday.....I've got a scarcer mid-grade T205 common that I have ending tonight that I wouldn't consider selling on a Friday.

I like Saturday night to end so I can start my shipping. I hate to be buried with lots of items to ship....like now!

  • I like Thursday because as someone stated earlier payday is on Friday and in my opinion its adown night thta most people dont go out on saving that for Fri/Sat nights. My second choice is Sunday especially in the colder months.
