PCGS.....Please create a Sacagawea Variety Registry Set

When will PCGS create a Sacagawea Dollar - Circulation Variety set???? PCGS gave the BS/SF option to the Presidential Dollar Sets and the State Quarter Sets...what about us????

Just think the Presidential Dollar Series is not even a year old and it already has 6 different sets for collectors to fill. The poor Sac Dollar circulation collectors have had only ONE Registry Set since the year 2000 and the top 3 spots haven't changed much in years.

It seems that there are a couple of board members out there looking for high grade specimens...maybe they know something that I don'timage

Send BJ a request and a possible profile of the set you may want to assemble. She is great at getting new sets put together.

    Eric, I AGREE!
It seems like it is about time that a new Sac set is added.
If you would like take a look at the below link to one of my showcases This is how it should be.

Mitch, That is great news, now lets see it completed.

I concur..................About time we got those "nasty circ strikes" into a set of their own. (JK) I welcome a set of BS / Var'y Sac-ey's. Then I would have reason to chase them. image

I would like to see a basic set that did not have the Goodacre Presentaion and Cherrios coins in it. What the mint made for issue to the masses only.
Then the varity set with all of them.

Hard to REMOVE a coin like the Goodacre 6 years later after some % of 200 sets over the past 6 years already bought one - wouldn't you say?

I don't think I have run across any Sac in circulation other than a 2000, and maybe once or twice a 2001. After 2002 the USM, in effect, has made the Sac exclusively for coin collectors. If you do run across a 02 03 04 05 06 or 07 it is a good bet that a collector put it into the general coin population.

I agree that it would be tough to remove the Goodacre Sacs from the Cir. Strike set.

That does not seem to be the point here. The point is a set including the BS's, Cheerios, and Wounded Eagle varieties should be made, and the sooner the better.

The Cheerios Dollar variety is one of the most popular "newer" discoveries and is yet to be included in ANY registry sets.

In line with the Presidential Dollar model, there should be a "Major" variety Sac set and a "complete" variety Sac set. The Cheerios should go into the Major set while the Cheerios and Wounded Eagles should go into the complete set (assuming the Wounded Eagle has a coin number and not an E number).

i would agree with you mitch...i really don't believe that what in essence is a mint error (the wounded eagle "die-crack" of 2000) should be required in the "major variety" set.

I think PCGS has finally begun to address the Sac issues but I think a little more focus would be appreciated. I mean it seems the quarter issues are cleared up and they are only $.25 each and we are talking a full US $1 and not some bizarre fractional. No decimal point is needed here folks, move along. image

The set is BS without the Goodacre and anyone that has an issue with it really hasn't paid any attention to the series. Glenda was one smart and talented woman and you have to credit ICG with the whole thing as the Goodacre Sac would not exist without their influence. The Goodacre Sac MUST NOT be removed from ANY set and any set is BS without the Goodacre and anyone that has an issue with it really hasn't paid any attention to the series. Glenda was one smart and talented woman and you have to credit ICG with the whole thing as the Goodacre Sac would not exist without their influence. The Goodacre Sac MUST NOT be removed from any set, period!

I'm sorry if you can't find one, it just makes mine worth more. image

    Eric,
The Wounded Eagle may or may not be a Die Gouge... BUT since it is in the CherryPickers Guide and is recognized as a variety it should be in at least one the major variety set IMHO.
