Brodie Croyle got to play yesterday. I don't know if he's the savior. The way young QB's are anymore, you can never tell. But he can definitely throw lasers. He's mobile. And he gives fans more to hope for than watching Stone Legs Huard get nailed, or try to scramble, and throw a wounded duck 25 yards for a pick-6. Herm did a good job last year simplifying the offense for Huard and it worked great. 11 TD's & 1 pick. Don't see why he can't do it with Brodie.
And speaking of Herm. I'm glad he's content to try and win games by scoring 12 points, but it isn't going to work. Maybe the Vermiel era spoiled me, but I'm just not content to watch Herm Schottenheimer run on 3rd and 8 at midfield to get field position for the punt. Watching the nature of the play calling lately has me wondering if anyone with a headset on their head has a pair of marbles between their legs. I honestly think if Carl Peterson would have put his personal feelings aside and kept Al Saunders to call plays, this team would probably be contending for a Superbowl right now.
How this team even made it to 4-5 with no O-line and a running game that reflects it, a never-was QB, a coach content to punt on 3rd down, and a kicker that misses 30 yarders is beyond me. If anything, it's a testament to how far Gunther Cunningham has turned this defense around. I see flashes of the mid 90's when I watch this defense. A lot of young hard-nosed guys that get after it.
Anyways, status quo for Chiefs fans. One side of the ball is carrying their weight, the other side is doing more than enough to bring the whole team down. And ss long as Carl Peterson is running things, the Chiefs will be just good enough to get fans excited, but not good enough to keep fans happy.

Anyway, I think its time for Croyle to get his chance. It'll be tough for him with the lousy O-line but like you say, he is mobile and will be able to avoid some sacks that Huard can't avoid.
