All-Time Rushers Set- Fred Taylor

I have requested Fred Taylor be added to the All-Time Rushers set as he surpassed 10,000 yesterday.

Just wanted to get some opinions to make sure we have a consensus or at least a majority on which card should be added. Please post here which of his 1998 RCs it should be.

My vote:

1998 SP Authentic #16

I also made the request last night, and I also requested '98 SP Authentic. I'm thinking this one will be a slam dunk.

When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

While we're on the topic, I'm assuming '97 SP Authentic will be used for Warrick Dunn (now 58 yards shy of 10,000), but I'm guessing PSA will send out a poll on that one. I wonder if they will do the same for Tomlinson (91 yards away) though, since 2001 Topps Chrome is already used in 2 key rookie card sets (All-Time Chargers, Modern FB HOF Candidates).

Quite possibly we will have a poll on Fred Taylor as well..I thought 1996 SP Terrell Owens was as slam dunk as you get...

Someone requested Tom Brady to be added to the QB set recently, and the poll sent out was for the specific addition of the 2000 SP Authentic Brady. If they are going to have to run a poll for Fred Taylor or Warrick Dunn or LT, I would much rather see the vote YES or NO to add the specific card rather than a poll with 10 different card options to vote on...Not sure what determines this...

Also, the Warrick Dunn is used on the All-Time Bucs set..The 1996 SP Owens was already used on the All-Time 49ers set, yet we still got a poll with multiple card choices.

I would prefer the 1998 Score card 'cause that is the only one I have image

Dude, you would be SURPRISED at some of the votes other cards have gotten...lol..I guarantee this was the reasoning behind a few of them..Luckily, the larger sets (larger in number of collectors) we have enough "smart" guys to overcome this, but on some of the smaller sets it's gotten ugly in the past.

No doubt it should be SP Authentic for Taylor and Dunn. Tomlinson is a gray area, but I guess the ship has sailed that it will be Topps Chrome. Nice card, and more affordable than the alternatives.

No such details will spoil my plans...

You would be surprised Joe. The PSA 10 I bought a few months ago, was way over SMR. That card is in the same price neighborhood as the SP Authentic depending on grade

I thought you hated those shiny Chrome issues Frank? image

Andy, you know I hate them. Topps Chrome and Bowman Chrome are the 2 biggest ripoff products in the hobby. When they first came out I thought it was a good idea, till I saw the photography was the same as the base set. They could have at least used a different pictureimage
When it became apparent that the Topps Chrome was going to be used instead of the SP Authentic RC for Tomlinson, I had to bite the bullet and get one.

There's a slew of Tomlinson rookies out there, and a decent number do fit PSA's criteria for key rookie card sets. But Tomlinson's Topps Chrome rookie is already used in both the All-Time Chargers and Modern HOF Candidates sets, so it'd be a shock if it wasn't the card chosen for the RBs set.

    FYI,

I got an e-mail back from Gayle and they WILL be sending out a poll for Fred Taylor with multiple card choices. Looks like that's going to be the SOP from now on.
