Yes.. I saw it too. It seems to me that its a waste of money to have the government advertising to sell...money. Maybe the new ads are designed to put a floor under the dollar? But why waste money advertising when the last gold coin to come out...the jefferson first spouse...sold out in two hours and 15 minutes. Geez...how stupid are these people who play at running our country? Don't answer that...

Oh my goodness.
We have to admit it. There're all laughing at us.

This makes me angry. They should mint coins and not deal in them.
I seen this with the US Forest Service. There was a hiker store in a small town near here struggling to survive. The US Forest Service turned their lobby into a small store with hiking books, maps and such. And not US Forest Service maps but commercial maps and books that you would find in Amazon. Essentially they compete with private business. And that is what the mint is doing here.
How do you compete with the Government? You can't. They force you to pay taxes from your business and then use it to compete with you. It is so crooked as to be assinine. No wonder this country is melting down.
The US Mint has no business retailing or advertising like this. It is the principle of the thing and the precedence it sets for all private business. Nobody can compete with the feds when it is your profits they tax to compete with you.
I do not know what is sadder, the ad on TV and the readers digest, or the fact that the people have failed to recognize and respond to a real threat to this country.

That one debuted in the spring and I've caught it 2 or 3 times.
Kinda goofy.
