1888-O Vam 7a info request

I ran accross an 1888-O Vam 7a and have been searching for any value/sales info on it. It is listed as an R7. I find it to be a really interesting VAM, but don't want to get stuck overpaying. The coin I ran accross is a XF or low AU, may have been cleaned at one time long ago, so long ago it's hard to tell.

It certainly is a rare coin. You have to understand that several of the top VAM hunters have been avidly looking for one of those for some time now and I am not sure how many were found. I haven't found one yet.

Not sure of a value. I doubt any have changed hands yet. Figure on a couple hundred bucks for an XF45 minimum but it is in the wild west still.

Thanks for the info. I ended up buying it, I will post a pic when it arrives. I love it when I get a rip when the seller thinks he's ripping me, but doesn't know it was a good VAM, lol.

I've collected over 10,000 VAM sales transaction records in the last few years, but not a single one for that coin.
