My most recent BBCE rip

About a month ago I ordered some stuff from Steve. Order was a 2001 EX Baseball box, a 1980 Topps Grocery baseball wax rack. 1978 Topps baseball rack, 1978 Topps football wax pack.

I figured the 2001 EX would give me a shot at a Pujols rookie. My results?

Ted Williams game used jersey card (sent to Elemenopeo)
Pedro Martinez wall card (looks like Montreal)
Jose Ortiz rookie
Eric Munson signed
Bunch of stars etc.

Cards actually have nice eye appeal for shineys

The 1980 Wax rack was a disappointment. Two packs were identical. Only stars were a Rod Carew and a Dave Winfield which wouldn't grade higher than a 9. Centering was decent with majority falling into 8 or 9 grade.

The 78 rack was a bummer. 8s or 9s at best with several miscut. Biggest name was Catfish Hunter.

The 78 football wax was nice. Every card fell into the 9 range, but no big names. I'll probably go back for more 78 waxes...

If anyone is looking for any of the '01 EXs, let me know who and if I have them I'll send them off. Jeter is off limits for my own set and Frank Thomas is going to bunchobull (Ross). I know I got Ripken, Gwynn, Manny, Piazza...etc etc.
Next MONTH? So he's saying that if he wins, the best-case scenario is that he'll be paying for it two weeks after the auction ends?

Forget blocking him; find out where he lives and go punch him in the nuts. --WalterSobchak 9/12/12

That's a sweet looking Carew Guywithnonumbers.

Sorry to hear about the 78T racks - over a period of 8 months - I believe - I sold a board member 79T racks; and to me those are tougher with respect to centering. He did get an Oz - but I think centering just wasn't there.

The biggie for me - finding centered team cards from 78 and 79!

    Good luck on the wax.

That 78 FB definitely deserves some more attention when they're coming out that nice. The baseball wasn't too bad, despite the lack of notoriety.

The '01 Ex had some really nice spots to it, even without Pujols. I appreciate you thinking about me with the Thomas, those look like some beautiful issues.
