1921-D VAM-1O (oh!) Morgan- Grade is in!

This morning, I went back to finish looking @ the Morgans my local B&M had...they had a couple of boxes of certified ones, so I decided to have a look. I had never heard of this grading company before:

The die breaks on the obverse caught my eye, and I knew it was a VAM. When I flipped it over, I saw the flagged A...I looked it up on VAMWorld, and it perfectly matches VAM-1O...Is there a Morgan expert in the house that can confirm? Also, VAMWorld says it's rare and it has 5 stars on the desirability scale...what's it worth? Trust me- the first thing I'm doing with it is getting it into better plastic...

Forgive the lighting on these...I was trying to light up the die cracks as much as possible!

Nice and it does look uncirculated too. The best I have found was one I got slabbed at ANACS as AU55. Good pick up.

Nice coin! Mine's going to ANACS first thing Monday...I cracked it out earlier this evening. I don't know much about this 'IGS', but they have a tough slab!

The original IGS (and this looks like one) was an ok company. I think it's properly graded at MS63. I bought my ANACS MS60 in 2004 for $250, in hindsight I probably overpaid
because 1921-D values have dropped, however VAM-1'O' remains a true rarity.

I'll have it back from ANACS by the end of the week (I'm getting the 5-day on it). I'll post the grade and let VAMWorld know so they can update the condition census...

Congratulations! You have the top pop one there now. They only had 5 attributions, with the highest being a single MS60. I have one of the two AU55s, the next ones down in their census.

Thanks! I guess sometimes it pays to look at those third world slabs...

Well, ANACS undergraded it. MS62 my foot...fast grades though.

The 1921-D Registry Set reports only a couple of 64's better.

Cool PDF. Compared it with my set and I have the following good ones then. The rest are not the high grades or not among the varieties listed in the registry. Figured I'd put them up here in case anyone is maintaining a census for that subset of 21-D VAMs.

    VAM-1D NGC MS65
    VAM-1F PCGS MS64
    VAM-1G PCGS MS65
    VAM-1i NGC MS64
    VAM-1J ULDS ANACS XF45 Details
    VAM-1L ANACS MS64
    VAM-1N PCGS MS63
    VAM-1"O" ANACS AU55
    VAM-1P ANACS MS63
    VAM-1Q PCGS MS64
    VAM-1T PCGS MS63
    VAM-1V PCGS MS64
    VAM-1AA2 ANACS MS64
    VAM-1AF ANACS MS63
    VAM-1AG RAW MS64
    VAM-2B ANACS AU55
    VAM-3A PCGS MS66
