Today's Pickups: Game Used gloves and rookie auto

Went to a signing at the local dealer, got my Larry Brown rookie signed IP. I cracked it out, so the slabs are still connected partially on the bottom and i can put the card back in the slab. Slab is in a sleeve so it stays closed.

They also have a deal with Redskins star TightEnd Chris Cooley, they sell his GU touchdown footballs and GU gloves and 80% goes to Chris's charity. The footballs are signed and inscribed with GU Touchdown and the date and they are selling for $1000. (Even for charity, way too expensive.) The gloves have been selling for $250-$350. The pair from the Sept 23rd game against the Giants were for sale for $250. Since they were having the signing, they were trying to entice sales of other memorabilia by having a Veterans Day sale by letting people pick coupons out of a box that ranged from 5%-50% off. I pulled a 30% off. When I went to say I would take the gloves and handed them the coupon, a 'oh crap' look popped on the owners face, apparently, they forgot to put the disclaimer near the gloves and balls, saying that the coupon wasn't valid for them since most of the proceeds went to charity. The two owners discussed, and let me have the gloves for the $175 price, as long as I could pay with cash, since they have to give $200 to Chris to give to the charity. So, they took a $25 loss since they messed that up. I thought it was good they honored the price since they messed up. (Though they will probably right the $25 off as charitable donation).

Nope. Cracked out, and stored in the split slab.

Did you forget the "wink" or "laughing" emoticon, or was that just a smart aleck answer? The reason I say this is because it was just an honest question.

I dont think so, since his first sentence was
" I cracked it out, so the slabs are still connected partially on the bottom and i can put the card back in the slab. Slab is in a sleeve so it stays closed."

no, it was a serious answer. I cracked the card out by seperating the 2 pieces, but only half way down, so the card could slide out and be put back in. In hand the slab is obviously opened.

I added that after he asked his first question.
