ATTENTION PSA: What could PSA do to improve for its customers?

I'm just asking. Maybe some of our suggestions could change some things. Seriously. I have only been able to submit around 50 cards this year. It has cost me a few hundred dollars to do so. I just sent 20 cards to be graded and it cost me right at $120. So I have paid $100 just to have the right to submit cards when I started in March. I would rather not receive the magazine in the mail if it would save me money, when I can access what I would like to see online. Then I have spent around another $180 to get cards graded periodically. I know that lots of people have sent way more than I have and spent way more than I have, and that's fine. I love having graded cards and I have for the most part been okay with the grades I have received. It adds an entire new dimension to the hobby. But should it be more accessible? It's an awful high price it seems. If I have spent this much and there are thousands of other collectors out there doing the same, that's quite a lot of coin going to PSA. I don't know where I'm going with this late night rant, but maybe someone can add some insight. I love and hate getting cards graded and since I have only ever used PSA, I suppose this is why I chose this board to possibly show PSA some ideas for improvement. There is a reason there is another thread asking if anyone is holding off renewing their membership. Maybe PSA needs to hear. Any thoughts?

2. Not play favorites (Ahem...4SC)
3. Have turnaround times mean something
<< <i>Offer a 20 day guaranteed service with a fee somewhere between the current bulk fees and the $13 special. >>
I like that one.

We just want to be able to submit cards at the standard rate! No need to chime in and try to tell me how great of a value it is, because the only only who gains any value is PSA unless you like all the bags and books they are making you buy(hidden cost in the subscription).
You are ABSOLUTELY RIGHT! Specials should be graded on a FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED basis. But, it's just like when applying things to our government - if it makes any sense, there is NO WAY it will get done that way.

1. Better quality control. This should be easy to accomplish. I hate having to send my cards back to be re-holdered corrrectly. In so doing, you are running the risk of the card being damaged during the process.
2. For Modern player master sets there could be free gradings at certain increments. Not the current cap when you get to 75%. Heck some of these sets will be into the 1000's of cards by the time they are completed.
3. When a card is graded why is it not added to the set registry database for the set(s) it applies to if it is the first graded. That would save members from having to make the request. The same can be said for sets in general. When a card is graded from a set, why not just add the set itself to the registry. Being more pro-active and less re-active on PSA's part would provide a much more positive customer experience.
4. Moving the requirement to use PSA/DNA vs PSA back a year or two would be a huge plus for collectors of graded auto sets. Sets like Inscriptions and UD Legends from 1997 are great sets but I'm not going to go through PSA/DNA to build those.
5. Leveling the fee schedule. Do those larger cases (for Tall Boys/Thick cards) really add THAT much cost to PSA?
6. For the modern thick cards, having a thicker case the same height/width as the case for the regular cards. Additionally, if the larger thick card slab is here to stay, applying the rules to when to use which case consistently. I have cards from the same set in both.
There's my 2 cents for the morning.

Looking for Al Hrabosky and any OPC Dave Campbells (the ESPN guy)
1. More search options for the set registry - sequential listings like CardTarget offers, search by player, set name-yr, and grade - they could do a lot more with their cert database
2. when a new set is created, every player who fits the set criteria should automatically be added to the database for that set - prodigious task but the way it is done now is painful
3. when I do a cert verification, it would be nice to see the date the card was graded
4. smr is outdated - they need links to current auctions to keep it more current and relevant; services like VCP are rendering this magazine obsolete IMO
5. the submission process is overly complex and time consuming; There should be a service level which allows you to submit your cards without the paperwork, have them fill it out and bill you for each card. I would submit way more cards if I didn't have to fill out the dreaded paperwork. PSA, I am submitting 75 cards, all 69 Topps, the value is $2300. You have my account info already. You do the rest, PSA.
Seeking primarily PSA graded pre-war "type" cards

Sure beckett dosen't charge a yearly fee but PSA is king, and PSA graded cards bring in more money and make your collection more valuable. Beckett needs to make it a no yearly fee to get people to join, but their customer service sucks, try getting your emails answered by them, try to get a phone call back when you leave them a message.
I really don't mind PSA charging a fee, PSA is like having a membership at an exclusive gulf course, and with beckett, its like going to the park to play gulf for free, HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. PSA is Quality, and beckett is just not! PSA is Nike, and beckett is payless.
PSA, keep making your website better, keep training your workers to provide the best possible service as there already doing, and make sure to always pick up your phone like the other guy dosent do 9 out of 10 times. Beckett keep not answering your phones because I don't like you anyways.
By the way, whats that scam beckett uses in their magazines, and website that says that they were voted best grading company 6 times in a row? Yeah, probably voted best grading service by a company that they own, or a friend of theirs owns, or something fishy like that. See, when people see that statement, they fall for it, they don't stop to think whos actualy doing the voting for them, or if the opinion of the people voting even matter LOL.
PSA is ruler and beckett just sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Some great ideas here, but since Joe is in charge, these will all go by the wayside. I have sent him several of the ideas mentioned here already and some were brought up at the National. None have been implemented (all you have to do is read recent threads). Unless you own a chunk of CU stock don't expect anything more than seeing this same thread brought up again 2 or 3 months later.
FYI SportsItUpCards: Your whole post discredited your entire opinion on this matter.
