Angel Takes Sports Seriously!

Apparently an old design of Chaplain adapated to a medal commemorating a 1952 event. Considering the horrid toning, this medal must have been stored in an area exposed to harsh elements.

It's in that delicious 1880's to 1930's style of coin engraving that I love so much. There are many coins and medals to collect in that period that are not that expensive.
This will be my next collecting interest:
not any country, not a specific date series, not any denomination or specific metal,
but coins and medals with that Iconic style of engraving.
...soon as I finish off selling my current collection which should be shortly after the new year. Three years of buying and 15 months of selling. I learned a lot when I purchased but learned a lot more when I decided to sell them on eBay. Overall, very satisfied, probably twice what I paid, lots of losers, lots of winners and that experience makes me a better buyer (I hope), and a better collector in the future.

I find myself doing something similar more and more. Some artists have a partricular style that I have entrancing; Herbemont, Dupon, etc.
I do not know if you have a large selection of medals in your own collection, if at all, but if so, check to see if one style really catches your eye. And stay away from my faves on eBay!
