Eraser and pencil marks

What type of eraser works best for removing pencil marks of of non-glossy card stock? Specifically, I have some exhibits that have some prices lightly written on the reverse. Will PSA kill me on the grades for erasures?

Are regular old pencil erasers the best, or one of the drafting type (before CAD, of course).

Thanks!

There are "puddy"-like erasers I remember some members talking about using. I used them in high school art class. They were nice because they didn't require rubbing, more of a blotting movement, and they would literally "pick up" the pencil strokes.

I could swear I have a T3 that came back "altered" since someone tried to remove the writing. I think there could be more issues though with that card.

I've never dealt with anything like this, but would a card that is written on also come back as altered, even if no attempt was made to erase it? Of course if there are signs of erasure, I guess they wouldn't holder it either. "Authentic" is about the best you can hope for it at that point I guess.

I have no idea how these would work on the cards so experiment with cheapies first, but two things that work wonders on nonglossy book dust jackets so in theory might work:
    1. "Artgum" eraser, BUT don't apply directly to the surface like a regular eraser. Place the eraser over the card & use your fingernail to scrape eraser shavings onto the card, then lightly rub over the marks. Shazam.
    2. For the life of me I can't remember what these are called, but ask at any art supply store & they'll know: They're small bags (about the size of a bar of soap) with little holes filled with very fine eraser shavings. The process is pretty much the same as above, twist the bag to get the shavings onto the stained area & lightly work over the stain.

    John,

Even if the marks are erased you will still get a MK qualifier if the writing is detected.
