An Ebayer says they want to pay for an item from two different paypal accounts. Seems strange...eve

This feels strange to me. Total transaction payment should be 931. Is their a danger with receiving money from two accounts? Is this some sort of scam perhaps? Can they "pay me" with one account using the invoice for the transaction, then send me the rest on another account then pull some kind of scam to get the money from the second account back?
Any help would be appreciated!!

if this is the case, tell the buyer you will only accept payment from two accounts in the form of e-checks. I don't believe the e-checks will be tied to the ebay purchase at all, therefore no recourse for the buyer.

as for the poster who says you have to recieve the payment in one payment to be covered, I don't understand this. But I don't expect paypal to protect my money anyway--that's my job.

<< <i>I think funds can be still be transfered between accounts with Paypal, I just don't remember the steps involved. If one account doesn't have enough funds, the buyer should be able to add additional funds from the other account, then pay the balance in full. I haven't done this for about 4 years and it was for a different reason, but I did do it. Paypal has changed a lot since then and maybe it can't be done now. >>
Bingo. He just needs to transfer the money. It will only take a matter of seconds for him/her to do this. Something smells fishy, or the buyer is not aware of this fact. BTW, I have two PayPal accounts (personal and business).
Hell, I don't need to exercise.....I get enough just pushing my luck.

If they have the funds in two accounts, they can transfer money from one to the other and pay you the total from one account.
I still say it sounds more like a coin guy than a scammer to propose such a thing.

<< <i> I've never figured a way to transfer funds without getting charged the 2.2 to 2.9 percent fees >>
The point is, the buyer can do it. If he/she is charged a fee, so what? The fee for this process isn't coming out of the sellers account. The buyer has the responsibility of funding whichever account is being used. I would insist on a single payment from one account. How the buyer does that is his/her problem.
Chances are that he had two unconfirmed accounts an with this purchase is about to go over his allowed limit with out giving paypal his bank account info. Not all that uncommon, It's happen to me before. Roll with it. Not everyone is out to screw you. But then again ..it is the norm in this hobby...hmmmm.

Couldn't you transfer out of PayPal into a linked bank account and then back into PayPal from the same bank account?

I agree in part, Andrew. But truthfully, I've never screwed anyone or been screwed by anyone without first getting their permission.
