Grades In (Part 2 of 2) (Churchill Inside...)

Not 100% thrilled with this batch. 3 No-grades out of 7 image The 1814 Guadalajara at VF30 was a surprise. It's a gorgeous example of the War of Independence issue that I though would get a 40, even at PCGS. I guess they take some points off for die corrosion and a small planchet defect on the reverse. Uruguay piece was my mistake, I think. I remember that I treated it with Blue Ribbon, but can't be sure I removed the residue completely.

Something that will make Shroomster happy, though (can you guess what it is image )?

Pictures:

No pic of the Arnprior, but it has a nice die break. I thought it would grade 61, as well (lots of dings).

    Thanks, Bill image

As soon as it's back from PCGS (and as soon as Don sends me his new address) it will have a new owner image

Still some great looking coins despite the no-grades. Let me know when that S Peru piece needs a new home.....

I would like to thank Roman for thinking of me regarding his Churchill Crown. Now I'll have to crack it out and resubmit it 10 times trying to get it into a MS65 slab.

Like I've mentioned earlier, Don - if it wasn't for your interest in these, I would've never submitted a Churchill for grading image Brent - I'm holding on to the S.Peru piece for now, since early 19th Century XF45 Latin/S. American crowns seems to be becoming the new theme of my collection. However, when I get ready to sell it - i'll contact you first.
