    I'm sure that reason itself was an important factor for Mattingly in deciding to make the move -- he is making himself more marketable to non-NYY teams seeking a competent manager. I think it is a good move for him.

    when will the first three game losing streak occur? (if the NY papers are anything like Boston's papers and radio shows)

    Mattingly will be managing the Yankees year after next after Girardi gets fired for not making the playoffs...

    I don't know about the rest of you Yanks fans, but I'm gonna be pullin' pretty strong for the Dodgers in the NL next year. I don't normally have a fave in the NL.

    I know Bowa is but I'm not sure about Pena.
