So, if you're a MLB player and "former" steroid/HGH user...

should you fess up to it on your own before being "found out" or implicated in the Mitchell report? I'd think it would be the wise thing to do if one wished to protect his "innocence"

  • If one took performance enhancing drugs, they no longer have any innocence to protect.

Actually a good offense might be the best defense. I wonder how many have told their teams so as not be "surprised" by the news. I heard that Baltimore knew about Palmeros test before it was announced but they waited until he hit his 3000 hit before it was publicized.

That was not Baltimore's decision; that was MLB's decision. Palmeiro challenged the test, so MLB ran multiple tests on the sample and all came back positive and MLB decided to hold the news so they could get the positive publicity before announcing his positive tests. Afterall, didn't you see his congressional comments: "Never have I ever taken steroids, never" all while pointing his guilty finger in the camera.

I would believe more names will come out....heck who would have thought Paul Byrds name was going to show up....I'm sure there will be stories coming out for everyone mentioned....

Players may be hoping their name doesn't show up on any invoices or paperwork if they did try some of these

It's always best to come forward rather than being "outed".
So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts
  • As soon as the report is released and the names are known a number of current and former ballplayers are going to see their reputation go into the toilet. If you are sure you are in there if might be best to fess up now, your reputation will still be shot but at least you won't
be the center of attention when the report comes out, it will be behind you to some extent.
