at 12 years, it's around $24 million per year...does NY want to be paying a 44 year old man $24 million a year (or with much of the money paid in the out years, maybe $30 million or more)?
it is NYY, maybe one of a handful of clubs that could afford it. Still, too much, even worse than the Texas Rangers contract...for at least Arod was younger then.
FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal says the Dodgers are back in the lead in the race for Miguel Cabrera.
Rosenthal says the Angels and White Sox could both still be in the hunt after Monday's trade. He doesn't mention the Giants, who were reported Friday to be aggressively pursuing Cabrera. According to Rosenthal, the Marlins want Matt Kemp, Clayton Kershaw and Andy LaRoche for Cabrera. That'd be an extremely high price to pay, and it's hard to see the Angels matching that offer. Jered Weaver and Nick Adenhart are very valuable, but Kershaw trumps both.

Wow, Dodgers may become the Yankees of the West Coast! Trying to make some HUGE moves! I would love to see that Yankees/Dodgers rivalry brought back to life! Especially with Torre and Mattingly in Dodger uniforms! I'll definately be buying MLB from cable this year...if Dodgers get Cabrera, they will be a really fun team to watch!
