1981 Donruss/ what will it grade

Busted a box of 1981 donruss from BBCE... WOW, forgot how brutal those 81's were

Anyway, tell me what you think of these 2 cards.... Also, note the scan of the back of the Ryan, will that get me a PD qualifier???

Maybe a 9 on the Ryan. I don't think you'll get dinged on the back issue. I had one '84 Donruss come back as a 9 with similar back issues, and that was from a really tough sub with several under-graded cards. Not sure about the Rose cuz I don't know how PSA treat those rough edges.

Top-left corner of the Rose looks slightly rounded--I'd guess 8 at best on that.

I say Ryan 9 and Rose 8. How were the rest of the cards? I have contemplated starting this set many, many times. I know they arent the easiest cards to get in 10's, but when I hear the term 'brutal' it always quells my hunger for this set a little more.

Well I busted a wax box I picked up from BBCE.. Gum was stuck to 1 card in every pack, and the centering was all over the place. A number of cards had dinged corners... So overall, yes, I call it brutal...

However, at only $45/box it was alot of fun, and brought back memories of childhood busting a ton of 81's..

I bought a pack of that stuff about a year ago. I had 3 cards that were stuck together becuase the gum residue had melted them together.
