I am in trouble! (2007 Allen and Ginter) Latest results

I know I am behind the crowd with this set but I bought my first box and a hand-collated set at a show yesterday. I love them! I will be sending out cards for autographs but what I would like to see, is pictures of cards that other collector's have already received. Get me even more fired up than I already am. I am mostly concentrating on the non-baseball players for now. Post away.

  • That is what I remember seeing. It looks like he started about the same time as me but one year earlier. LOL. I would like to see results from the 2007 set if anyone is doing the same thing for the past year.

  • I like those Pirate cards. My son is named Ian, and we get a big kicked out of seeing Ian Snell pitch. I also like that Augie Garrido. Where did you send that to get it signed?
    Thanks in advance.

I would gladly let her kick mine. As long as she cuddles when she's through.

    Want List:
'61 Topps Roy Campanella in PSA 5-7
    Cardinal T206 cards
    Adam Wainwright GU Jersey
  • I forgot that I hadn't scanned in my most recent successes. In the first pic I went ahead and added the 06 Wooden so there wasn't a blank space. And then since I was in scanning mode I thought I would scan in my other 06 cards. All of this was inspired by Bryon's thread, so thank you Bryon. The Barmes was IP the rest TTM.

Thanks, Ian Snell was very nice in person too. He was the only Pirates player that came out of the dugout to sign since they didn't take BP that day. The others I got were outside the stadium on their way inside. The Garrido card I sent to:

    Augie Garrido
    c/o University of Texas Baseball
    P.O. Box 7399
    Austin, TX 78713

    Good luck!

  • Those are all great autos. I sent out 10 cards today(I was a letter writing fool yesterday). Did I make a mistake by not rubbing the cards with a cloth before sending them? I haven't seen the "bubbled" autographs on these cards when compared to other cards. What does everyone use to "prepare" the cards for autographs?
    Thanks in advance, Paul

  • No need to "prepare" the A & G cards. They don't have the glossy finish that causes the bubbling. I haven't had any problems with the signature on them at all, now if I could say the same thing about the cards getting creased in the mail...

  • Donnie,
I only put them in a soft sleeve. I don't know which is worse, a creased card or a smeared autograph from the person trying to slide the card back into a toploader. I think my next batch will be sent out with 2 index cards for protection. They may even get signed and returned to me as signed 3 x 5's. LOL

Paul -- Congrats on the Zupan! That's a good idea to use the index cards instead of soft sleeves or toploaders. It's been my experience that smudged sigs look much, much worse than a crease or a dinged corner --- and even those are surprisingly rare using minimal protection. Also, if you want to put a scan directly into your post (instead of a attaching a file) use the image button (it's the one that looks like a picture frame) in the text composition screen, like so...

  • That is so cool. Thank you for the info. That is how I will post my other ones as they come in. Thanks to everybody for their help.
